DR.ASHISH MAHENDRABHAI KOTHARI
Dr. Ashish Kothari is an Electronics and Communication Engineer. He has completed his Diploma Engineering from A.V. Parekh Technical Institute Rajkot, Bachelors of Engineering from Atmiya Institute of Technology and Science, his Master in Engineering from C.U. Shah College of Engineering, Wadhwan and later his Ph.D. from Shree Jagdishprasad Jhabarmal Tibrewala University Rajasthan on “Design, Implementation and performance analysis of Digital Watermarking for Video.” Apart from this, he has done many online certification programmes from Duke University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta USA, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Switzerland, IUCEE courses and also courses from IIT Bombay on various topics of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
He is working in the capacity of Professor in department of electronics and communication engineering at Atmiya University, Rajkot, Gujarat and also takes care of administrative duties in the capacity of Director-Centre for Research, Innovation and Translation of the University. He has done his research work in the field of Image and Video signal processing and is expert in MATLAB, Python, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. He is currently working in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things and Industry Automation. Out of his passion for improving the learning capabilities of students, He has played a crucial role as a Faculty at Atmiya for creating an ecosystem for innovation and research and worked closely with GTU in implementing Udisha Club, Open Source Technologies Club (OSTC); the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) of the Govt. of Gujarat; with IIT Bombay – Remote Center, Virtual Lab, Spoken Tutorial, Centre of Excellence in Embedded systems and Robotics and this has helped him file 13 patent’s with the students projects and his research too.
He has also played many vital roles at Atmiya; to name a few -in the establishment of Atmiya University; in establishing IIT Bombay Remote Center under NMEICT project by MHRD; in Establishing Center of Excellence in Embedded System and Robotics in association with team E-Yantra, IIT Bombay; in approval of Center of Excellence in Telecom approved by Gujarat Technological University and Center of Entrepreneurship Development Government of Gujarat and helped in getting the SSIP Grant, collaborating with Coursera and other online learning platforms during the COVID (Impact: 15000+ students and faculty members from Atmiya and other part of the nation has taken certificate courses free of cost).
His research outcome covers 13 Patents, 5 books with Springer International Publishing, 3 book chapters, 25+ research papers in SCOPUS/WoS journals, 30+ papers in UGC care and other reputed journals, 3 papers in IEEE conferences, 10+ in other international and national conferences and 15 expert talks IUCEE and various Universities in the field of Image processing; MATLAB, Patent filing procedures in India ML and AI. He is also life member of ISTE. He has got 15+ national and international awards, recognition and appreciation from reputed organizations. Under his guidance, 9 PhD scholars has completed their research work and 50+ PG students has completed their dissertation in the field of image and video signal processing, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Ashish is an excellent teacher, humble, approachable and believes in hands-on learning. He always finds time for research, innovation, and promotion of scientific temperament among the students of School to Post graduation to Ph.D. making the journey of learning very fruitful and joyful. He is a combination of being cultural rooted and technological sound which makes him a great teacher and a good administrator.
